If any of you know anything about me, they’ll know that my three major interests have always been; history, food and martial arts. I’ve also always had a propensity to write.
As a child I wasn’t the best student. In fact, I was often characterized as a dunce in school.
I’ve always been a writer, but it was the quality of my writing that bothered me. I was always concerned with what people would think of me after reading my pitiful utterances.
Anyway, a few years ago I was chatting with a friend who insisted that it was time for a female James Bond. I’ve always considered the notion of revising literary characters to suit the zeitgeist of the present silly and thoroughly lacking in the quality of imagination. I therefore decided there and then to create something far more appealing than the “blunt instrument” and one dimensional Agent OO7. A female with the looks and wit of Bond, but with the resources and skills of a young Bruce Wayne. I added an historical provenance and based the character on three (maybe four) women who I know personally.
The result is a three novel series entitled Caligula. The first in the series is entitled Beauty is the Beast (for obvious reasons) and will be available online by mid July of this year.
Although the series is almost complete, there’s plenty of room for change. I’d like to use this page and other social media platforms to ask for suggestions, comments and criticisms. If you could help make the series better, I’d be eternally grateful. Who knows, there may be even some of you out there who become characters.
